My Account
Clifford is a parish on the east bank of the River Wye, where the river forms the border with Wales at Clyro, north of  Hay-on-Wye
Besides the original settlement of Clifford, the parish includes the hamlets of Hardwicke, Middlewood and Priory Wood.
Before the Herefordshire parish of  Cusop to the south, Hardwicke Brook flows into the Wye from Hardwicke from the east of the parish.
From Hay-on-Wye, the B4348 runs through Hardwicke on to  Dorstone further east, where the parish
of Dorstone is at the head of the River Dore's Golden Valley.
The River Wye also forms the northern parish boundary of Clifford with Whitney, and at the site of a dismantled
railway, a road toll Whitney Bridge, takes the B4350 northwards to join the A438 along the north bank.
On the south bank, the next parish to the east is  Bredwardine.
