- This category represents the area seven miles south of Ross-on-Wye, on the southern edge of Herefordshire,
- where the River Wye, loops north from the parish of Welsh Bicknor into Goodrich, before turning south,
- where it forms the parish boundary with Whitchurch.
- The west bank rises steeply to 200 metre from 23 metre above sea level at Symonds Yat (West).
- On the east bank the woodland rises to 144 metres, and Symonds Yat (East) is at the south of the penisula,
- before English Bicknor parish in the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire.
- There are no bridges in this area, but a ferry serves Symonds Yat (East) from Symonds Yat (West).
- Besides this area, this category represents the parish of Ganarew to the west on Herefordshire's
- southern border with Wales at Monmouth.
- The area to the north west is represented by the Llangrove category
