Retford is a market town in the  Bassetlaw District, east of  Worksop, on the A620,
which leads north east to the Bassetlaw parish of Beckiningham, and the A631 to  Gainsborough
where the River Trent forms the boundary with the  West Lindsey.
On the west bank of the Trent to the south are the parishes of Saundby, Bole Weston Burton, Sturton le Steeple,
North Leverton with Habblethorpe, Cottam, Rampton, Laneham to  Dunham-on-Trent.
North of Beckiningham on the A161 on the west bank are the Bassetlaw parishes of Walkeringham to  Misterton.
