The Rutland parish of Lyddington is south of  Uppingham on the A6003 to  Caldecott. The parish includes Eyebrook reservoir which forms the unitary authority boundary with Leicestershire to the west. The village of Lyddington lies to the A6003, with the Rutland parish of Thorpe by Water over Bee Hill, down to the River Welland.  Here the Welland meanders around the unitary authority boundary with Gretton and Harringworth in East Northamptonshire district.
