Aleppo Governorate is one of the fourteen governorates of Syria.
Aleppo is situated in northern Syria, bordering Turkey. Its area is from 16,142 km² to 18,500 km² depending on the source. The governorate has a population of 4,281,000 (2006 estimate). The capital is Aleppo (Halab).
