Located in San Diego County within the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Ocotillo Wells is the home of the California State Vehicular Recreation Area, an area dedicated to off-road vehicles. Because of its small population, mailing addresses here are required to use "Borrego Springs CA 92004", even though Borrego Springs is a community sixteen miles to the northwest.
