Newington [Hartford County] Connecticut was a parish, named in 1721 from Newington in Kent or Stoke-N. Middlesex (London). It was incorporated from Wethersfield in July, 1871.
Area, 13.2 sq. miles. Population, est., 28,346. Voting districts, 7. Principal industries, printing and manufacture of airplane parts, dies, gauges, tools and plumbing supplies.
It is considered to be a part of the Greater Hartford Metro Area.
