Iowa City has many active neighborhood associations. These groups invite participation from their residents. Associations are a way to get to know one's neighbors and to learn more about a neighborhood. The 29 area neighborhoods include: Southwest Estates, Walnut Ridge, Galway Hills, Walden Woods, Ty' Cae, West Side, Penny Bryn, Bryn Mawr Heights, Harlocke Weeber, Melrose, Miller Orchard, Hilltop, Pepperwood, Southpointe, Grant Wood, Wetherby, Lucas Farms, Longfellow, College Green, Northside, Shimek, Goosetown, Morningside, Creekside, Bluffwood, Washington Hills, Friendship, Village Green and Windsor Ridge.
