Larue County was formed in 1843. It is located in the Louisville-Lincoln region of the state. The elevation in the county ranges from 421 to 1080 feet above sea level. In 2000 the county population was 13,373 in a land area of 263.20 square miles. The county seat is Hodgenville. Abraham Lincoln was born near Hodgenville.
