The city of Lilydale, Minnesota, lies along the Mississippi River in the northern tip of Dakota County. It is about as far north as you can get and still be "south of the river."
Lilydale is bounded on the north by St. Paul, on the east by Mendota Heights, on the southwest by Mendota. It is across the Mississippi from Fort Snelling State Park.
