The town of Woodruff, named in honor of first settler Thomas Woodruff, is located in south Spartanburg County less than 10 miles from Interstate 26. Woodruff’s attractions include nearby Walnut Grove Plantation, which includes much of the original 18th-century outbuildings; and the Thomas Price House which was the general store, stagecoach stop and post office. Today the facility is restored, open for viewing and host to the annual Taste of the Backcountry each spring.
