American Fork, Utah is located in Utah County. It is north of Provo and south of Salt Lake City in the Utah Valley at the base of Mount Timpanogos. Once the home of Ute Indians, the town was settled in 1850 by Mormon pioneers and originally called McArthursville and Lake City.
