Chittenden County is located in the Champlain Valley region of Vermont. It is bounded to the north by Franklin County and to the east by Lamoille and Washington Counties. The southernmost border is Addison County and to the west is Grand Isle County and the state of New York. The county seat is Burlington. As of 2000, the population was 146,571.
