Waitsfield is a town located in Washington County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,659. Chartered on February 25, 1782, it is part of the Mad River Valley Rural Historic District, which is a gently-sloped stretch of fertile land lying along both sides of the river between Moretown and Waitsfield Villages.
