Tauranga District is in the Western Bay of Plenty region on the eastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The boundaries of the District extend from the Wairoa River in the west to the Pacific coast in the east, and from the harbour inlet at Mount Maunganui in the north to the foothills of the Kaimai - Mamaku ranges in the south.
