This category is for sites about how the collection of ancient books that we now call the Bible came into existence, the literary and oral sources that may underlay these documents, and the means by which these documents were preserved and copied over many centuries. At this level will be sites which survey the fields of oral and written transmission, the development of alphabets and writing materials, the history of writing in the form of manuscripts, and the history of the printing of the Bible.
