The New King James Version (NKJV) is a revision of the Authorized Version (AV)-- popularly called the King James Version (KJV). The NKJV New Testament usually retains the so-called Majority Text or Textus Receptus while updating archaic terminology.
The New Testament was published in 1979 and the Old Testament in 1982. A minor revision was issued in 1984.
