There is a strong creationist movement within Islam, mainly centred in Turkey but present worldwide. It most closely resembles, and may have links to, Intelligent Design movements in North America.
The controversial writer Harun Yahya (pseudonym of Adnan Oktar), who uses the Internet to propagate his ideas and books, is the most visible proponent of Creationism within Islam.
Liberal movements within Islam generally accept scientific positions on the age of the earth, age of the universe and evolution.
