Tyson Chandler is a 7' 1" 225 pound center and recent high school graduate who started all 4 years on the high school basketball team at national powerhouse Dominguez High School of Compton, California. Regarded as one of the top high school players in the country, Chandler was drafted #2 in the 2001 NBA draft on June 27th. Previously, the highest high school draftee was Darius Miles, taken by the LA Clippers with the #3 pick in 2000. Chandler was taken #2 by the LA Clippers, then traded the same night to the Chicago Bulls who also drafted high schooler Eddy Curry with the #4 pick, creating the foundation for a frontcourt to rebuild the team around.
