Buyeo County is home to the ancient capital of the Baekje Kingdom, which at its height ruled all the lands bordering the West Sea (or Yellow Sea). Buyeo is bounded by Jeonbuk province on the south, and within Chungnam by the cities of Boryeong, Gongju and Nonsan, and by the counties of Seocheon and Cheongyang.
