Kamala Harris is the first female U.S. Vice President. She was born October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California.

She was a senator from California from 2017 to 2021, and the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017.

She is also the first African-American and Asian-American Vice President.

Her husband Douglas Emhoff is properly referred to as the second gentleman.
