Sourton, population around 400, is the parish west of  Okehampton,
(including "Okehampton Hamlets") administered by West Devon Borough Council.

The south east boundary of the parish is within Dartmoor National Park, where there are

Whereas Sourton village is on the A386 road,  Bridestowe is further west, and only its hamlets
of Lake and Southerly are south, before the next village south  Lydford.
