- Moreton is a parish on the west bank of the River Frome, north west of Wool,
- East Burton and the Dorset Innovation Park.
- Moreton is served by a railway station to the west of the parish, on the
- South Western Main Line, connecting Wool with Dorchester to the west.
- Immediately west of the station, Crossways is over the old West/ North district boundary.
- Woodsford is also a West Dorset parish, north of the station, represented by the Crossways category.
- The B3390 crosses the River Frome to the north, where Moreton Plantation is in the
- combined parish of Affpuddle and Turnspuddle.
- East of Moreton across the Frome, Bovington Heath can be approached only by foot bridges.
- Bovington Camp further east is in the north of Wool parish.
