There are many regions in Nova Scotia. Some of these are officially recognized such as school or electoral districts. Others are unofficial but widely accepted by the general population -- because they are best known, these are the ones used here. Opinions differ in some cases as to what counties and/or localities belong in any given unofficial region so the broadest possible range is used here. Please refer to the description for each region to learn more about the boundaries used.
