RFID, an acronym for "Radio Frequency Identification", includes many facets of technology used to identify assets, people, and other technology. Common applications of RFID include proximity tags, time and attendance, and access control. Well known applications include the badges people use to check in and out of a work area or secure area, and tolltags used on tollroads.
Please include sites that specialize more or less in the RFID arena. This may include manufacturers, resellers, and integrators. If companies do not have some degree of specialization in this field, or if they sell a wide gamut of products and services other than RFID, maybe selling some asset management or inventory control-type applications, they will probably be better served in the asset tracking thread.
RFID is becoming a headline news item due to its increasing acceptance in business and because of some implications of a loss of privacy with their use. This category is for sites and a limited number of news articles that _inform_ about RFID technology and its uses, both theoretical and actual. Society/Issues/Human_Rights_and_Liberties/Privacy and Society/Issues/Science_and_Technology are places to submit sites that focus on societal ISSUES related to RFID.
