The population of Estonia is approximately 1.35 million, the capital and largest city is Tallinn.

Estonia became independent on the 24th of February 1918. It was occupied by the Soviet Union from 1939 to 1941, by Germany from 1941 to 1944 and again by the Soviet Union from 1944 to 1991. Independence was restored on the 20th of August 1991.
