Create a brief description, under 25 words, listing the current content of your site (not the future content).
Do not use 1st or 2nd person verbiage (I, we, our, us, you, your).

Chivalric

Contains sites dealing with Orders of Chivalry in all forms, including groups of knights joined in a monastic-style order, secular military orders and chivalric orders of merit.

Web directories are organized Web site listings put together by human reviewers. Therefore, this category for directories of non-profit organizations only lists sites that offer multiple listings of non-profit organizations -- preferably organized around a useful theme. Individual non-profit organizations should seek the category best related to their mission.

If you meet the above "directories" description, please submit only sites of broad national and international interest. Chambers of commerce, volunteer centers, and other charity and organization directories which have a primarily local orientation are strongly encouraged to submit into the most appropriate category in the Regional hierarchy.

Fraternal

Fraternal organizations identify themselves as brotherhoods and/or sisterhoods, with lifetime memberships, shared ideals and principles, and ritualistic traditions. These organizations may be formed with different purposes, including social interaction, public service, or mutual benefit (such as financial services or insurance for members).

Please submit only sites that relate to fraternal organizations specifically. If a site relates to an organization or type of organization that has a specific subcategory, then please submit to that category. College fraternities and sororities should be submitted to the Fraternities and Sororities category. Fundraising sites should be submitted to the Fundraising category.

Only sites in the English language are accepted. Please send sites written in other languages to the World hierarchy.

Hobby Interests

Hobbyists like to get together with others of similar interests. This category is for clubs and organizations devoted to hobbies and vocational interests. Other categories of the Open Directory, such as Recreation and its subcategories, have more diverse information about the hobbies themselves.

Lineage

Lineage societies are those founded by, and for the descendants of, noted ancestors who were primarily engaged in a historic event - such as a war or battle, the birth of a new state, country, or town, an immigration, or any other event that is heralded in the history books. The Society causes can be philanthropic, historical, genealogical, or educational; however, their objectives are generally to foster the memory and ideals of their ancestors for which the Society was founded. Historically, membership in a lineage society is limited to those of lineal blood descent to an ancestor acceptable to the Society. Membership in a Clan is offered to those bearing the same blood name as the clan or that of an accepted Sept; or those who have a proven ancestor who bore the clan name.

This category is open to all sites hosting, promoting, fostering, or offering information on Lineage Societies.

Professional, industry, or scholarly organizations
Organizations devoted to a particular sector (choose that sector from the main Society/Organizations category)

This category is for English language web sites of professional organizations and links to related categories for organizations and clubs of individual people in various professions.

Please submit your site into the most specific category possible.

Industry or trade associations, chambers of commerce, or other organizations of businesses; please find the appropriate category from Business/Resources/Associations
Labor unions or parties in the labor movement; please see Society/Work/Labor_Movement
Recreational organizations of any kind, even if their membership consists of professionals; these are invariably better placed in categories pertaining to the recreational interest
Sites whose content is primarily in languages other than English; all non-English sites are categorized under the World hierarchy.

Self-Improvement

This category is for organizations that focus on self improvement.

Service Clubs

Service clubs are organizations which have been formed in many parts of the world so that their members may volunteer to perform valuable community services, as well as enjoy fellowship, learn from knowledgable speakers and interesting programs which provide an insight into issues affecting the local and global community, develop and exercise leadership skills, expand business through professional networking, and gain a sense of worthwhile accomplishment. There are a wide variety of service clubs, with different goals, focus, programs, and memberships.

Please submit only sites that are dedicated to local Jaycee chapters, state and national Jaycee organizations, JCI organizations, and sites that are dedicated exclusively to a Jaycee project or service.

Student

Informational and educational web sites belonging to organizations by and for students at all levels.

Please submit your web site to the single most appropriate subcategory. DO NOT submit sites to the main Student Organizations listing unless you can not find a more specific place. If your educational institution also has its own category, for instance under Reference/Education/Colleges_and_Universities, you may also submit it there.
