"Gormenghast" is a BBC TV mini-series, directed by Andy Wilson, from the novel by Mervyn Peake. The ancient family of Groan has been incarcerated for centuries in the vast crumbling castle of Gormenghast. The dynasty is threatened by the charismatic Steerpike (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) who escapes his destiny as a kitchen boy. With Ian Richardson as Lord Groan, Christopher Lee as Flay, John Sessions as Dr. Prunesquallor, Warren Mitchell as Barquentine, Spike Milligan as De-ath, and many other well known actors.
