- Tolpuddle is a settlement on the north bank of the River Piddle, now bypassed by the A35 trunk road, from Bere Regis to Puddletown to the east.
- The River Piddle flows from Puddletown, eastwards north of Bryantspuddle, in the combined parish of Affpuddle and Turner Puddle.
- Tolpuddle parish extends north of the A35, before Weatherby Castle, at the top of the hill separating Milborne St Andrew.
- The parish south of the Piddle and Southover Heath is Tincleton represented by Stinsford.
