Utopia, or Utopias, are in effect perfect societies, otherwise free from war, violence, most crime, and disease. It is, in a sense, the "Perfect Society" or perfect place - having taken its roots from a work by Plato's Republic. There are many different kinds of Utopias, as they are based on attempting perfection - and most combine most or all of these types. Economic, political, social, scientific, and pretty much any other large area of society. Utopianism also falls under this category, as it is the movement toward utopias, and as such many of these movements involve political means to achieve their goals.
