Alphin Brook flows through Alphington from west to east where a lock separates the tidal flow of the River Exe.

Ashburton, population 4000, is an ancient stannary town, 10km west of  Newton Abbot
on the south-eastern edge of  Dartmoor National Park.
This category is for websites within the parish of Ashburton, with its southern boundary along the A38 Expressway. 
Ashburton is almost surrounded by parishes administered by  Teignbridge District Council, namely: 
Woodland and Torbryan to the south east, Bickington to the east, Ilsington to the north east,

Ashwater, population 670, is a village east of the A388 between  Holsworthy and  Lifton.
The parish of Ashwater is administered by  Torridge District Council, along with  Halwill to the east,
Black Torrington to the north east, Bradford to the north, Cookbury and Hollacombe to the north west, 
Clawton to the west, with Tetcott, Luffincott, Northcott, St. Giles on the Heath,

Avonwick is a village at the east tip of the South Hams parish of  Ugborough, and is now administered as the expanded parish of North Huish.  Avonwick is separated by the A38 expressway from  South Brent to the north.  Avonwick is used as the postal town for addresses south of the A38 as far east as Diptford.

Axminster is a market town, population almost 5,800, in East Devon near the Dorset Border
The parish of Axminster is on the confluence of the Rivers Yarty and Axe, crossed by
the A35 from Dorset to  Honiton.
The Yarty forms the west boundary with  Kilmington whereas on the east bank of
the Yarty,  Membury is the next parish north.

Axmouth is a village on the east bank of the River Axe, as it flows into the English Channel.
The parish of Axmouth is separated from  Seaton by the Axe, with  Colyton further north.

Bampton is located south of the  Exmoor National Park, from which it is separated by the Mid Devon parish of Morebath.  The parish stretches to the county border with  Somerset at its north and west extremes, along with the Mid Devon parishes of  Oakford to the west and  Clayhanger to the east.  On its southern boundary, the parish of Bampton meets the Mid Devon parishes of Hockworthy and  Huntsham in the south east, and Stoodleigh in the south west, with the Borough of  Tiverton directly to the south.

Barnstaple, population 23000, is a town in north Devon, England.

Beaford is a village on the A3124 from  Winkleigh to  Great Torrington. within the  Torridge District.
Beaford parish has the River Torridge as the boundary with  Merton to the south, and is separated from
Great Torrington by the parish of Little Torrington to the west, and Giles in the Wood northwards. 
Further west, Roborough and  Ashreigney separate Beaford from
the  North Devon parish of  Burrington to the east.
To the south east is  Dolton, and to the south west is  Merton.
The small Torridge parishes of Huish and Dowland separate these from West Devon boundary
with  Meeth and  Dartmoor.

Beaworthy, population less than 300, is a village north of the A3079 between  Okehampton and  Holsworthy
The parish of Beaworthy, administered by  West Devon Borough Council, extends south east of the village
along the A3079 road, north of  Bratton Clovelly, as far as Thorndon Cross.
There, its north east boundary is with the combined parishes of Ashbury and  Northlew
Directly west of the village of Beaworthy is Halwill Junction, within the parish of  Halwill,
which closes the north and west boundary with  Torridge Distrct Council.

Beer, population about 1400, is a pretty seaside village built around a small cove in East Devon, a mile or two west of Seaton.

Belstone is one of the most northern parishes in the Dartmoor National Park and is administered by West Devon Borough Council.  It is nestled between Okehampton. Okehampton Hamlets and the parish of South Tawton, which includes the village of South Zeal.

Bere Alston is a village in the extreme west of Devon, a few miles north of Plymouth, in the parish of Bere Ferrers
administered by West Devon Borough Council.
Websites for the area south of the A390 in the parish of Gulworthy are included here, whereas those to the north

Bow

This category is for website based in or exclusively about the Mid Devon parish of Bow, including the vicinity of hamlets of Hillerton and Nymet Tracey.

Brayford is an inland parish in the western edge of the Exmoor National Park, and is administered by North Devon District Council.  It is south of the parishes of Challacombe and Bratton_Fleming, with Stoke Rivers and East Buckland to the west, and the Exmoor border parish of North Molton to the east.

This category includes sites throughout the parish of Brayford, including the village of High Bray and hamlet of Little Bray.  This category also includes sites associated with the River Bray, as it leaves Challacombe, and flows towards the River Mole, as well as for farms and dwellings in its valley, and rising to moorland in the east.

Brendon is an inland parish in the north western edge of the Exmoor National Park, and is administered by North Devon District Council.  It is south of the coastal parish of Countisbury, with the parish of Lynton and Lynmouth to the west, otherwise surrounded by the county border with Exmoor parishes of Somerset.  The village of Brendon is in the valley, scoured by the East Lyn River, though this category includes sites for moorland farms and dwellings of Brendon Common to Brendon Two Gates.

Brentor is one of the most western parishes in the Dartmoor National Park and is administered by West Devon Borough Council.  The largest village is called North Brentor, but the parish is most famous for its church, set at the top of Brent Tor.

Countisbury is the most north eastern parish within North Devon District, and is within the Exmoor National Park.  It is administered as a combined civil parish within Brendon, stretching from Lynmouth along the north coast, including Sillery Sands, Foreland Point, Countisbury Cove, up to Old Burrow Hill, the County Gate with North West Somerset, down to the boundary with Oare, and back to Brendon.  The parish is serviced by the main road, A39, which connects Somerset and Lynmouth, passing through the village of Countisbury, comprising a pub and church, surrounded by National Trust property.  A small road leads off to the hamlet of Wilsham, before heading south to Brendon.

Kingsteignton is widely rumoured to be the biggest village in England with a population of over 11,000 with more inhabitants than many of Devon's towns. In 1982 the parish council decided that to protect its identity as a separate community Kingsteignton should become a town. The decision to change its status annoyed many residents and a referendum was held which saw its village status restored. A quirk of geology deposited fine quality ball clays on the eastern edge of the Bovey Basin some 30 - 40 million years ago. Lynmouth is a harbour village on the north coast of Devon, separated from the Somerset border by the cliff-top parish of Countisbury.

North Molton is an inland parish in the western edge of Exmoor, and is administered by North Devon District Council. It is south of the parish of Brayford, east of East Buckland and Filleigh, north of the town of South Molton and the parish of Bishop's Nympton.  Twitchen is a small parish to the east, which has the postal address of North Molton, and like North Molton has its north east boundary within the Exmoor National Park, and borders Somerset.

Slapton, population 420, is a parish administerd by South Hams District Council, which stretches into Start Bay, west of Strete, south of Blackawton, east of East Allington and north of Stokenham.
